Role Overview:
Schmidhauser Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Solar PV / Inverter Technician to join our growing Renewable Energy Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including inverters, battery storage units, and associated electrical components.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all solar installations are compliant, safe, and operating efficiently in line with SANS regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission solar PV systems, inverters, and battery storage solutions
- Perform routine maintenance and fault-finding on solar and inverter systems
- Diagnose electrical and communication faults within PV systems
- Conduct system performance testing and reporting
- Ensure installations comply with SANS 10142 and relevant regulatory standards
- Perform system upgrades and inverter replacements where required
